JSModels’ story began in late 2019, when Jonathan was building a small OO gauge model railway shunting puzzle layout. Looking around for kits of suitably tall, imposing mill buildings, he was surprised to find that none were available.

Having a background in practical solutions, including CAD work, Jonathan set about designing his own model railway buildings and having the parts laser-cut by an outside contractor. After posting pictures of the resulting buildings online, he was bombarded with requests to produce them as kits, and so JSModels began, with just three different kits available.
It soon became clear that getting the parts cut by another company wasn’t sustainable, so in early 2020 an industrial laser cutter was purchased and installed in the JSModels workshop
New designs were slowly added to the range, with laser-cut model railway kits produced in O gauge and N gauge, as well as the original OO gauge range. Since those first three kits, the JSModels range has grown to well over 200 products, covering a wide variety of buildings and structures for model railway layouts.
Custom and Bespoke Model Railway Buildings
As well as the standard range of kits, customised versions are also available on request. These can vary from minor alterations to the height, width and depth of existing buildings, to the addition of extra doors, windows and other features.
In addition, completely bespoke model railway buildings are also possible. If you need a particular building or structure for your layout and can’t find a suitable kit in the standard range, get in touch to discuss what JSModels may be able to produce.
